I just checked it out. If you have a public profile, and you sign up, it
takes the people who you email, who also have public profiles, and auto
follows them. You can unfollow them immediately, and it's pretty clear
what's going on. I don't see this as any different than every other social
network site, trying to find people who you know, who are already on the
network.
If you don't have a public profile, it doesn't even seem to help you set one
up (which strikes me as weird)
My twitter friends list is public, so is my facebook friends list (they
might let you turn that off now). I don't have an expectation for this to be
any different.
I'm going to shut up now. Lets get back to talking about games.
